part one: kaleidoscope

December 14, 2011 § 2 Comments

this is part one in a five part post series. i thought i would illustrate the versatility of my very favorite shoes at the moment: booties. i wear them with pretty much everything, and while i realize that they are not everyone’s cup of tea, i think they are chic and effortless. that said, there are so many styles that almost everyone can find what they crave, be it high or low heeled, cut above the ankle or just at, or in different colours or textures.

the booties actually ended up making this outfit work. without them, my legs look stumpy, and the proportions of the clothes were just off. they added the right amount of edge and grounded the look. i love how booties can make an outfit look chic and thrown together at the same time (which is MY cup of tea).

skirt, sweater: H&M | booties: Trouve | watch: Michael Kors | sunglasses: Celine

future posts in this series will include cocktail and work attire, as well as a surprise outfit. any requests or feedback on this five part post idea would be much appreciated!

enjoy your week! i’m in mexico so i sure will! won’t be posting as much, but do expect some vacation-inspired outfits to come!
